His Excellency the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (retired) Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia
This is my fifth and last letter to you. I hoped that I had previously pricked your conscience to act on behalf of all decent Australians to ensure that this present government does not continue to blatantly lie in Parliament, during election campaigns or on the media. I know that you can’t dismiss a government and I also know that you wouldn’t even if you could. I had an expectation that you would have a quiet word with the Prime Minister and tell him that he must not lie to the Australian People and neither must any of his Ministers. Surely this isn’t an unreasonable request, or expectation. How can we stop them lying?
I thank you for the reply I received, sent on 24th October telling me that you cannot get involved. As disappointing as it was, it was expected. The government still hasn’t raised Newstart by at least $75 p.w, which would benefit those struggling to find work and boost the economy. The position of Governor-General is impotent and I’m not quite sure why it is such an esteemed position.
The Prime Minister has not addressed the crisis this country is experiencing, especially NSW regarding bushfires. He goes to New Zealand, where he can’t do a thing, when his own country is on fire, and where he can do plenty. 740 plus houses have been burnt to the ground in NSW alone, six people have died, yet he has turned his back on his country and state and is now holidaying in Hawaii while Australia burns. This is a disgrace. Marise Payne is now in New Zealand where she will just be in the way. Why is New Zealand so important and Australia is rubbish? The Prime Minister should be dealing with this crisis here, it is an emergency. 20 houses destroyed yesterday in the Blue Mountains from a back-burning operation. Many people on Twitter are wishing his Hillsong Church would burn down. His Cult religion is also a worry to many people. The Religious Discrimination Bill discriminates on secular Australians. Section 116 of the Act states: The Commonwealth shall not make any law for establishing any religion or for imposing any religious observance or for prohibiting the free exercise of any religion, and no religious test shall be required as a qualification for any office or public trust. Where is the protection for secular Australians?
I have one last question, if you can’t stop the Prime Minister, his Ministers and staff from lying, who can? This government has to be stopped from behaving disgracefully, dishonestly and setting a very poor example to our young. We have already had a Climate Rebellion where thousands marched to no avail; does the government really want a revolution? Surely not. If we can’t complain about the government to the Governor-General, who can we complain to? I need you to answer this.
P.S. We are the laughing stock of the world regarding Climate Change.
P.P.S. If I were to write about every complaint regarding this government it would amount to at least one hundred pages.
You can also write to the Governor-General. What if he were to receive thousands of hard copy letters. He would have to do something. Here is his address:
His Excellency the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd),
Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia,
Sydney, NSW 2000
